My name is  Nicci Coertze and I am a mother, Professional Birth Photographer, Birth, C-section, Adoption and Bereavement Doula, CEO/Trainer at NCOT Training (Pty) Ltd and Writer.   I have been a professional photographer since 2005 and I have been doing birth photography for family and friends since 2010 and for private clients since 2015.  As a birth photographer the fact that I am a qualified doula is a huge advantage. Midwives are more open to allowing me into the birth space; and in hospitals, theatre personnel and doctors know that I am properly trained to adhere to all procedures in theatre, which other birth photographers may be unsure of.

Also, as someone who has witnessed many, many births, I know how to stay out of the way, without compromising your precious photos. ​Birth photography is a very unique (and difficult!) genre, and it is imperative that your birth photographer is au fait with working in a birthing environment.
